The tannins in Green Tea & Persimmon extracts are each known for their individual and unique ability to neutralize strong body odors, including nonenal, or more commonly, “old people smell.” So we’ve combined them in one bar. While “old people smell” sounds a bit insensitive, it is actually a clinical (and normal) condition. As we age, the way our bodies breakdown omega-7 fatty acids changes. The 2-nonenal molecule is a by-product of this chemical process, which is the actual culprit behind the not-so-pleasantly-named, “old people smell.” Tannins in persimmon and green tea have been found to be uniquely effective in neutralizing nonenal, hence our decision to combine them in this body-freshening bar.
